The E46 M3 was introduced in 2001 and is arguably the finest M car ever produced. In a world where Turbo power has taken over its naturally aspirated, screaming straight six engine has a ferocious character and is a joy to experience. Unique suspension and steering ensure a sharp turn in and accurate feedback. Useable as an everyday car but capable of supercar performance, the E46 M3 is staggeringly good.
Purchased from Bavarian Garages in Belfast, this car has been locally serviced regularly by careful owners and has a complete BMW dealer stamped history. The previous owner stored the car in a climate controlled garage. The car has the desirable manual gearbox and is in excellent condition, inside and out. The Phoenix Yellow paint work declares that this is a pure “M” car from a mile away. As this is the colour used in the BMW brochures, it has an extra appeal as a modern classic M3 and receives much admiration.
The Phoenix Yellow paintwork on this car is in excellent condition with no marks, scuffs or dents. All lights and badges are in good condition with no signs of cracks or moisture. The low stance of this E46 M3 and ‘M’ specific paintwork ensures the car looks great on the road and on your driveway. The four port exhaust has been improved with welded stainless steel pipes which look great but more importantly enhance the exhaust note, it sounds better than any other E46 M3 we have driven.
The fashionable Kiwi leather is in excellent condition and looks great from the cockpit. The seat material is unscathed and show no signs of wear. All controls including the buttons, gear lever and steering wheel are in good condition and the ‘Dark Shadow’ trim is like new. All carpets are as new. A fire extinguisher has been added below the driver’s seat, which is a nice touch for a car that has participated in the local car shows.
Having been serviced regularly and driven with care, this E46 M3 drives like a new car. The gearbox feedback is well weighted, the steering is communicative and the suspension is sporty whilst retaining comfort. The engine itself pulls well throughout the rev range and is a joy to experience at the higher end.
The car is fitted with the upgraded BMW genuine 19” multi-spoke chrome effect alloys, which are surely some of the finest wheels to ever sit on a car. The alloy wheels and badges are in excellent condition at each corner. All the tyres were replaced recently and are matching Bridgestone Potenza all round. The disc brakes and pads are fresh and the car stops as well as it goes.
This M3 has only ever been serviced at a main BMW dealer. It contains a full book of stamps for services, inspections and has been serviced less than 1000 miles ago. The next service is due in 14,000 miles. The car has been meticulously looked after by its previous owner.
